S.S. United States Stateroom M58 Bedspread
A nice bedspread from the S.S. United States. This set is marked M58, which was a first class stateroom on the main deck.

From the David Baldwin estate. Mr. David Baldwin was the 16th generation of sea captains going back to the whaling days. He served in the Merchant Marine during WWII and began working at United States Lines in 1952. He was charged with outfitting the food and hotel service onboard the S.S. United States and was onboard for her record breaking maiden voyage. He continued to work for USL until the 1960s and was involved in the development of containerized shipping.
